The right choice if you're a power kiter.

I'm approximately 200lb (90kg), and I ride an 11meter most of the time. I get the best performance in 12 - 18mph (19 - 28kph) with the 11meter, but break out an 8meter for higher winds.

At your weight, I would say an 8meter would be a good all-around kite...

Good luck!

Hi!

Choosing a kite which is best for you in terms of design, size and usability can depend on a lot of factors.
First of all it matters how much experience you already have and how much “action” you are looking for if this is the best way to describe it.

Judging by the wind speed you’ve given me and what you are intending to use your new purchase for, I would recommend you to have a look at the following products:

APEX 7.5 or 10.0

The Apex is a great choice for beginners of depower kiting and the perfect kite for cruising the backcountry.

Recommended wind speed: Size 7.5: 4-31 mp/h Size 10.0: 4-24 mp/h

NEO 2: 8 or 11

This kite designed for intermediate to expert experienced people has been redesigned and can be used for snow kiting.

Recommended wind speed: Size 8: 4-34 mp/h Size 11: 4-27 mp/h

MONTANA 5: 9.5 or 12.5

The redesigned Montana 5 comes with the new “High Performance Paragliding Technology” which gives it even more performance.

Recommended wind speed: Size 9.5: 4-30 mp/h Size 12.5: 4-21

Please always remember that these are recommendations only!

Good luck!

Greetings,

Buying a NEO, but which size?

Postby tapsa74 » Wed 06 Jan 2010 17:51

Hi,

I'm planning to buy a Neo2, but I'm not sure which would be the best size. I'm 75 kg and I want to use it for snow kiting (intermediate) in winds of 12km/h to 24 Km/h. Any quidance to the correct size would be helpful.

Cheers, Tapio
