Hi Chas,

If you can go up a little in size and price I can certainly recommend the Jive, It's easy to fly but able to do many tricks. I've had mine for a couple of years and I'm very pleased with it and I've learned a lot. Mine is the original Jive, I haven't had a chance to try the new Jive II yet but it is supposed to be even better!

Hello again!

If you already own these kites, Limbo, Bolero and Yukon you are covering a good spectrum of our all-round sport kite inventory.

Obviously you understand that here I can only give you suggestions about products from the HQ range.

If you would like to stay within this size range, another kite I could recommend to you is the “Bebop”. Notice we have a new release in this series for 2010: “Bebop Lime”. I’ve attached some info taken from our current catalogue below.

If you are looking for some more trick action, you might want to try one of the following:

- Salsa II (All-round sport kite, however wingspan is now larger: 5,9”)

- Jive II (Suitable if you want to get serious about trick kiting. Size: 6.4”)

Have another look at our catalogue for more information about these and other kites. You can download it from our homepage.

Concerning your second question, the Limbo is not really suitable for trick flying. Bolero and Yukon you might want to try to adjust the bridle but make sure you don’t go over wind speeds of 3 bft.

We have several kites in stock which are mainly designed for trick flying. Again, check out our catalogue again.

There is also plenty of literature available which could also help you with that.

All the best!

Michael

Thanks, Michael.

I have two other questions.

If I want to keep to the general size of my Bolero, Yukon, Limbo (5 to 5 1/2 foot wingspan) but want something a little more trick, what kite should I buy?

Are there mods I can make to my existing kites to make them more trick?

Hello!

Thanks for posting and good question too. The main purpose of those “pockets”, is for stability of the kite.

The rods inside the leading edge are very thin, especially towards the end of the wing. To stop the wingtips from moving too much during flight, these pockets fill with air and give the kite more stability.

Greetings,

Michael

Edit: By the way, the pockets are also there to reduce noise level of the kite during flight. Greetings!
Michael

The wingtips of the Limbo seem to form pockets. Is there a use for them?
